Facilitating effective professional development in computing(Invitation only) FD103 / NF10
Note that this course is for facilitators that are undertaking Stage 1 of the Facilitator Development Programme. You should have completed FD101 and FD102 before completing this course.
This computing-specific module of the facilitator development programme provides a grounding in the broad offer of the National Centre for Computing Education. You’ll be confident in discussing the offer with participants in CPD, helping them to access the support they need. You’ll also plot out a pathway for your own professional development.
A shared model of evidence-based teaching and learning underpins the NCCE offer. You’ll get hands-on experience of a range of pedagogical approaches which are central to our CPD and resources, enhancing your existing skills in teaching computing and supporting the development of other teachers.
Who is the course leader?
You will be able to:
- describe all relevant aspects of the National Centre for Computing Education, enabling you to act as an effective ambassador and advocate.
- understand how a range of evidence-led approaches to teaching computing can be developed in others through teacher CPD.
- plan to meet your own professional development priorities, as a teacher and CPD facilitator.
